What it is: Xarchive is a browser-based research tool for finding deleted posts and public web archive captures across social platforms.
Data source: The Internet Archive Wayback Machine CDX index (https://web.archive.org/cdx/search/cdx). Archive results link back to the original capture URL and timestamp. The separate Twitter GIF Downloader looks up public X/Twitter media, streams the original MP4, and converts to GIF locally in the browser.
Platforms covered: Twitter / X, Reddit, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn archive searches, plus public Twitter GIF downloads and a private in-browser search of your own X/Twitter data export.

What Xarchive can do

Find deleted tweets: enter an X/Twitter username and Xarchive lists the account's archived tweets and marks which ones have since been deleted. A single tweet URL can be checked the same way.
Read archived posts and comments from a Reddit user or subreddit, and see which ones were removed by moderators or deleted by their author.
Look up every Wayback Machine capture for a tweet URL, an X/Twitter profile, a subreddit, a Reddit user or thread URL, an Instagram profile or post URL, or a LinkedIn profile, company page, post, or article.
Check whether a deleted or private YouTube video was archived at /archive-youtube by pasting its URL or video ID.
Check public TikTok profile and video-page captures at /archive-tiktok by username or full video URL; playback is not guaranteed.
Narrow captures by date range so you can bracket the window before and after a deletion.
Preview a capture before opening archive.org, and compare neighbouring timestamps when one snapshot rendered incompletely.
Export the validated capture set as HTML, CSV, or JSON for citation, evidence bundles, or downstream analysis.
Download GIF media from an accessible public Twitter/X post at /twitter-gif-downloader as MP4, or convert it to an animated GIF in the browser.
Search your own downloaded X/Twitter archive ZIP entirely inside the browser at /local-x-archive — the file is parsed locally and never uploaded to a server.

What Xarchive cannot do

Xarchive can only surface what the Internet Archive crawled and stored publicly before deletion. If no crawler visited the page in time, there is no capture to find and no tool can recover it.
Private, protected, or age-restricted accounts are not crawled, so they never appear.
Capture completeness varies: a snapshot may exist while the post body failed to render, which is why nearby timestamps should be compared.
Archive searches do not save pages on demand or bypass platform privacy settings or login walls. The separate Twitter GIF Downloader looks up GIF media on currently accessible public posts.
Absence of a capture is not evidence that a post never existed — it only means the archive has no public record of it.

Xarchive lists the whole capture history for a profile or subreddit in one query and exports it as CSV/JSON, which the Wayback Machine web UI does not do.
